No. 10 Michigan visiting No. 14 Wisconsin was expected to be the first showdown of what will be an exciting Big Ten season.

The excitement will have to wait awhile.

The Badgers jumped on the Wolverines early and often and cruised to a 35-14 victory at Camp Randall Stadium. It was the fifth consecutive home win in the series for Wisconsin.

The scoring started on the first drive of the game as the Badgers marched 75 yards in 12 plays, capped by a 1-yard touchdown run by Heisman candidate Jonathan Taylor.

Michigan's lone highlight of the half came on the ensuing drive as Shea Patterson found Ronnie Bell for a 68-yard gain to the Badgers' 7. But two plays later, Ben Mason fumbled and Wisconsin recovered.

Taylor later dashed 72 yards for a touchdown near the end of the first quarter, and the rout was on. After the play, Taylor was sidelined the rest of the half with what was reported as cramps. He had 143 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns in the first 30 minutes.

Wisconsin quarterback Jack Coan added two scoring runs in the second quarter to make the advantage 28-0 at halftime. The Badgers outgained the Wolverines 312-96 before the break

The second half was drama-free as Wisconsin scored on its opening drive with John Chenal carrying the final 2 yards for a touchdown.

Michigan finally got on the board with 2:08 left in the third quarter when Shea Patterson hit Sean McKeon for a 6-yard touchdown and then found Tarik Bowl on a 2-point conversion.

The score was the first points allowed by the Badgers, who shut out both South Florida and Central Michigan it their first two games of the season.

The Wolverines added a touchdown in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring.

Taylor finished with 203 yards on 23 carries.
